Do not assume every watch is the same
Serial number placement and visibility vary by brand, model, and production era. On some pieces it may be under a bracelet, on a caseback, or documented in service records. Ask for a calm explanation and a clear photo before deciding how to proceed.

An obscured, scratched, or poorly re-engraved marking deserves professional attention. It can point to wear or repair, but it can also make ownership and identity checks impossible. Do not accept an unsupported explanation on an expensive purchase.
